Audio

RockIT Networks has a strong background in sound systems and audio networking. A large number of our technicians are from audio backgrounds. This puts us in a very strong position for supplying audio networks. Over the years we have been involved in designing many systems based around Soundwebs using Cobranet and BLU link. In 2012, RockIT were subcontracted to provide the designs for all of the venues for the London 2012 Olympic games. We also have lots of experience with the Q-Sys system which is used by Show Hire for many of their events including The Farnborough airshow and Burghley horse trials.

Now that Dante has positioned itself as the simple professional audio over IP solution, there are thousands of products that include Dante support. We have extensive experience with building and managing Dante networks.

Managing a stable network with the correct QOS in place is paramount when transporting time critical information such as audio. There is no tolerance for variation in delay (jitter). We use equipment that utilises FEC or forward error correction. This allows packets that have not been received correctly to be rebuilt without requiring retransmission. This is very important when transmitting across unreliable links and the public internet.

Some recent projects have included;

  • Transmitting PCM audio across a point to point microwave link using encoders  with FEC for a radio broadcast.
  • Transmitting comms across the city of London via MPLS using Dante.
  • Providing a reinforcement system at The London Stadium using Dante Sound Webs.
  • Fully customised Operator page
